Match Briefing
Safety and Range Rules
Cold Range — Cardinal Shooting Center is a cold range. Firearms will not be handled anywhere on the range except in designated safety areas or under the direct supervision of match staff. Handling firearms in the parking lot is prohibited.
Safety Areas — Safety areas are provided for bagging, unbagging, holstering, dry fire practice, and equipment repairs. No ammunition handling is permitted in safety areas.
Eye and Ear Protection — Mandatory for all competitors, range officers, and spectators on the range.
Match Check-in / Registration
Check-in will be held at Red Feather Outfitters, see schedule for specific times.
Competition Rules
The match rules are found in the current edition of the USPSA Competition Rules.
Scheduling and Stage Inspection
Competitors shoot only on their scheduled dates and assigned squads. Written stage briefings will be provided at each stage. The range will remain closed until authorized — competitors may walk through and inspect stages but may not activate any props or equipment.
Chronograph
Competitors will report to the chronograph at their scheduled time. Certified Match Ammunition (App C3) must be declared at registration and turned in prior to your first stage. Competitors declaring Certified Match Ammunition must still follow the Chronograph procedures (App C2).
Range Facilities
Portable restrooms are available throughout the range. Water will be provided on bays. Food vendors will be on-site — check the schedule for details.
Vehicle and Parking
Use designated competitor parking areas only. No private vehicles on the range without permission from the Match Director. Firearm handling in parking areas is strictly prohibited.
Additional Policies
- Alcohol and recreational drugs may not be consumed anywhere on the range. Competitors violating this policy will be disqualified and asked to leave the range.
- All brass is donated to range staff.
Spectators
Eye and ear protection is required for all spectators on the range. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Prize Table / Trophies
Prizes will be sent to those awarded based on Appendix A2 of the current USPSA Handgun Competition Rules following the match.
